TravelSmart helps people in Bulgaria travel the world smarter, easier, and more affordably.
How it all began…
In 2014, we noticed a significant shift: Bulgarians were traveling abroad more frequently and exploring a wider range of destinations. This trend was fueled by the country’s recent EU accession and the rapidly increasing purchasing power of its citizens. However, many aspiring travelers faced a common challenge—they had the means and desire to travel but lacked the knowledge to plan their trips in a smart, informed, and cost-effective way.
Recognizing this need, we launched TravelSmart in March 2015 as an information channel dedicated to supporting Bulgarian travelers.
TravelSmart – Helping the travelers from Bulgaria for the past 10 years
TravelSmart (www.travelsmart.bg) has grown significantly since its foundation in March 2015. What began as a simple platform has expanded to offer a wide range of content, including travel deals (flights, DIY trips, holiday packages, and more), informative articles on travel services and products, inspiring traveler stories, updates on the latest travel industry developments, and much more. Alongside this growth in content, our audience has also flourished, reaching nearly 100,000 regular users, many of whom engage with us across seven active marketing channels.
Travel deals
Every day, we share attractive travel deals from Bulgaria to destinations around the world. These include flight tickets, DIY trips (combining flights and hotels booked separately), and holiday packages. Each deal is accompanied by detailed, step-by-step instructions, empowering users to book their trips independently.
News
We stay connected with major global travel information sources to provide the latest updates relevant to Bulgarian travelers. This includes announcements about new flights to and from Bulgaria, changes to travel rules and regulations, updates on airline policies, and more.

We post regularly useful articles that aim to educate and inform travelers. These cover practical travel tips, insights into travel services and products, and detailed explanations of developments within the travel industry. Our goal is to help users plan smarter, more informed trips.

Award-winning travel start-up
In 2019, TravelSmart received awards in all three categories for which it was nominated at the Bulgarian Annual Travel Awards ceremony. The company was recognized as the top contender in the categories of ‘Online Travel Media,’ ‘Online Travel Blog,’ and the ‘Public Award for Online Travel Media/Blog of the Year.’
However, since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, the travel award ceremony has not been held again.
