Full scale destination marketing for a specific market.

How it all began…

In 2019, the Amazing Thailand office for Central and Eastern Europe, specifically their local office for the Balkans in Bucharest, reached out to us to enhance their marketing efforts in the Bulgarian market. Their primary objective was to establish marketing channels that could reach a wide audience of potential travelers to Thailand and regularly provide engaging content to educate and inspire them about the destination.

The project presented a unique challenge, as Amazing Thailand’s presence in Bulgaria was limited to an underdeveloped Facebook page with around 2,000 followers and no targeted marketing campaigns or meaningful engagement with the local audience.

In 2019, Southeast Asia, and Thailand in particular, were emerging as popular destinations for Bulgarian travelers. However, much of the wider audience remained unaware of the richness and diversity Thailand had to offer. To address this, we began developing the Facebook page specifically for the Bulgarian audience while simultaneously organizing various contests and quizzes to engage and educate followers.

Through consistent posting of diverse and engaging content, we quickly began to capture the audience’s attention and attract new followers. Over the course of four years, the page grew from approximately 2,000 followers to more than 30,000, many of whom were highly active, frequently reacting to and engaging with our posts.

Each year, we launched one or two high-engagement campaigns, such as photo contests, quizzes, or surveys. Despite offering modest prizes, these campaigns consistently achieved high levels of engagement. Many went viral, enabling us to reach audiences beyond our immediate followers and further expand our presence in the Bulgarian market.

At a later stage, we supported the development of a dedicated website for the Bulgarian market: www.thailand.bg. Through strategic promotion, we popularized the website and its articles among our audience. This helped travelers discover fascinating facts, stay updated with news about Thailand, and find valuable resources to plan their own trips to the destination.

Working with Yantria is a pleasure due to their very holistic approach on every project they
engages with. Not only they managed to grow our Facebook audience of TAT Bulgaria from
2200 followers in October 2019 to 30,000 followers in May 2024, but also they activated our
page so much that today it reaches more than 60,000 users every month , which makes it
the most popular travel destination Facebook page in the country. In addition, they conducted several contests, quizzes and surveys with our audience which significantly increased our level of engagement with them.

Martin is also a very valuable partner as he knows brilliantly the community of active travelers in Bulgaria as well as most of the important stakeholders in the industry (travel agencies, airlines, travel bloggers, ministry of tourism). He has been constantly suggesting strategic initiatives for most of the TAT operations in the region which once again shows his high level of responsibility and goal-oriented approach.
